Hi! I'm Grace from North New Jersey. 

I started this blog in 2014 as a place to share my adventure in first-time horse ownership as well as stories on the trail as I explore the sport of distance riding with my horse, Quest. In 2024, I made the decision to expand "The Horseback Artist" to be inclusive of the other parts that have made me and continue to shape me into the person that I am today. 

I've always been a passionate hobbyist with many interests. Since 2005, I have been a self-taught artist and costume builder working with clients around the world bringing their ideas to life. I enjoy exploring different mediums and am always looking to learn new skills. In February 2022, I started customizing Breyer model horses and take on a limited number of equine portrait commissions and private projects each year. 

I am also an avid jigsaw puzzler and enjoy doing solo and team speed puzzle events. My favorite brand is Ravensburger and I also enjoy Cobble Hill and Springbok. I have no major preference for designs, but do usually enjoy 1000-piece busy puzzles with lots of color and details. 

In November 2020, my husband and I entered into the wonderful journey of parenthood with the arrival of our son, C. We recently welcomed our daughter T who arrived in March 2023. The blog will also include our family adventures as we bike and explore the trails of North NJ together.
